Marvin H. Buchli, age 84, of Rice Lake, WI passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012 at the Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake.
Marvin was born on May 22, 1928 in Bloomer, WI to Harvey and Elsie (Sievert) Buchli. Marvin grew up on the family farm in New Auburn, WI and attended the New Auburn schools. After graduation Marvin served in the United States Army from 1951 - 1953 as a medic in the Korean War. After military service Marvin moved to Racine, WI where he worked at J.I. Case in Racine and later, American Motors in Kenosha, WI. After moving to Racine, Marvin met Norma Dobbs. They were married on June 28, 1958 at Grace Lutheran Church in Racine. In 1966 Marvin’s family moved to Larsen, WI where he worked at Stowe-Woodward in Neenah, WI until his retirement. Marvin loved the outdoors; fishing, hunting and camping. He enjoyed all sports especially watching the Packers, Badgers and Brewers.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Norma Buchli of Rice Lake, WI; 3 sons, Greg Buchli of Greenville, WI, Gary Buchli of Springbrook, WI and Brian Buchli of Neenah, WI; 3 grandchildren, Logan, Jason and Avalon; 4 brothers, Robert Buchli of Barron, WI, Vernon (Carol) Buchli of Fridley, MN, Roland (Charlotte) Buchli of Rice Lake, WI and Arthur (Joan) Buchli of Chetek, WI; a sister, Jeanette (Morris) Riley of Chippewa Falls, WI; an aunt, Isabelle Schuster of Bloomer, WI; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI where Military Rites will be accorded by the Rice Lake Veterans Center Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 9:30 - 11:30 AM Thursday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals.
