O'BRIEN, Lester M. (December 22, 1928 - July 19, 2012) Lester M. O’Brien, age 83, of Birchwood, WI, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012. Lester was born in Nova Scotia, Canada on December 22, 1928. He was united in marriage to Marlene Leader on October 10, 1959 in Melrose Park, IL. After raising his three children with Marlene, they moved to Phillips, WI where he worked for IAP (Industrial Air Products) until his retirement in 1994. He and Marlene spent his retirement in Minnesota and Montana before moving to Birchwood in 2003. Lester enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting along with spending time with friends and family. Lester O’Brien is survived by his wife, Marlene and three children: Michael (Carole), Shelly and John along with five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Lester was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and five sisters. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI with visitation for one hour prior to the Funeral Service. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lester’s family.
