BOEHMER, Robert "Bob"
(July 15, 1931 - July 12, 2012)
Robert “Bob” Boehmer, age 80, of Rice Lake, WI, died Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Heritage Manor in Rice Lake.

He was born on July 15, 1931 in Rice Lake to Albert and Loretta (Forrest) Boehmer. Bob graduated from the Rice Lake High School in 1950. He also spent 7 years in the Wisconsin National Guard. On August 8, 1953 he was married to Kathryn “Kappy” Kohler at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake. Bob worked at and later became the 3rd generation owner of Boehmer’s Ace Hardware in Rice Lake. From 1983 - 1993 he managed a LaQuinta Inn motel. Bob’s many activities included: playing baseball for the Rice Lake Robins, coaching American Legion baseball and Church League softball, he was a Cub and Boy Scout Leader and enjoyed being involved in many of his children’s activities. Bob was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, involved in Parish Council, School Board and Home & School; the Elks Club and Moose Lodge; was president of the Chamber of Commerce and president of the Aquafest committee.

Bob is survived by his wife, Kathryn “Kappy” Boehmer of Rice Lake, WI; 4 children, Steve & Joanie Boehmer of Blaine, MN, Lori & Jerry Ryan of Stillwater, MN, Tim & Kim Boehmer of Neenah, WI and Greg & Annie Boehmer of Pulaski, WI; 10 grandchildren, 3 bonus grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn & Harold Krogstad; 2 brothers and 3 sisters-in-law, Al & Kathy Boehmer, Jake & Donna Boehmer and Judy Davison; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Loretta; stepmother, Alice; and a brother, Mike.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 AM Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake, WI, Fr. John Spanjers officiating, with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 PM Monday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals and for 1 hour prior to the service at the Church.
