Dr. Roger G. Byron, age 75, of Rice Lake, WI died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Our House Assisted Living in Rice Lake.
He was born on May 24, 1937 in Waseca, MN to Eugene and Clara (Lueck) Byron. After graduating from the Waseca Central High School he attended Lamar University in Beaumont, TX on a golf scholarship. Roger was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. He went into the service and then returned to college, later receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Anatomy. In 1963 he furthered his education in San Francisco graduating in 1967 from the California College of Podiatric Medicine. From 1968 - 1996 he practiced Podiatry in Orange County, California. On July 24, 1965 he was married to Carolyn Cislaghi in La Habra, CA. He was a member of the American Podiatry Medical Association, Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul Conference, Golden “K” and St. Joseph Parish where he was a Eucharistic minister. Roger enjoyed golf, working on flower gardens and the perfect lawn.
Roger Byron is survived by his wife, Carolyn Byron of Rice Lake, WI; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Drs. Michele Byron & David Bihrle of Rice Lake, WI, Dr. Julie Byron of Columbus, OH and Drs. Elizabeth “Beth” Byron & James Barham of Annandale, VA; 4 grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Bihrle, Marcus and Sophia Barham-Byron; a sister-in-law, Patricia Byron of Red Lake Falls, MN; a brother-in-law, Daniel Cislaghi of Henderson, NV; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Christina & Dr. Frank Mayne of El Paso, TX; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Clara Byron; and a brother, Maurice Byron.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Monday, July 16, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake, WI, Fr. David Oberts officiating, with interment in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spooner, WI. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 PM Sunday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals and for 1 hour prior to the service at the Church. There will be a Rosary Service at 7 PM Sunday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals.
Memorials to St. Vincent de Paul - St. Joseph Conference, St. Joseph Catholic Church and the American Cancer Society - Hope Lodge in Marshfield, WI are appreciated.
