SMITH, Ralph E. (July 21, 1940 - May 24, 2012) Ralph E. Smith, age 71, of Rice Lake, WI, died Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake. He was born on July 21, 1940 in Webster, WI to Ronald and Ruth (Olson) Smith. He graduated from Regis High School in Eau Claire, WI in 1959. On July 29, 1961 Ralph was married to Mary Sadowski in Rice Lake, WI. Ralph worked for Nuto Farms for 20 years and also worked for Rice Lake Township as a patrolman. He loved sitting on the porch watching and waving to people as they passed by. Ralph also enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR races and his being with the “guys” on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Ralph Smith is survived by his wife, Mary Smith of Rice Lake, WI; a son, Jeffrey Smith of Rice Lake, WI; 2 granddaughters, Ashley and Brittany; a great-granddaughter, Ayva; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry & Karen Smith of Chippewa Falls, WI and Jim & Kathy Smith of Kenosha, WI; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a son, Jody Smith on November 10, 1993; parents, Ronald and Ruth Smith; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mike and Lorraine Sadowski; and brother-in-law, Mike Sadowski. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 21, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Rice Lake, WI. Lunch will follow at the Rice Lake Moose Lodge for friends and family.
