DROST, Bonnie J.
(April 16, 1941 - March 18, 2012)
Bonnie J. Drost, age 70, of Rice Lake, WI passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born April 16, 1941 in Rice Lake, WI to Olaf and Jane (Ramsdell) Larsen. She graduated from the Rice Lake High School in 1959. Bonnie was married to LaVerne Mlejnek in May 1961 and later married Gerald “Pee Wee” Drost on March 22, 1991 in Rice Lake. Bonnie was a pair technician and operator for GTE for over 30 years. Bonnie worked at the Rice Lake City Hall and was secretary/treasurer at Red Cedar Community Church. She also sold Avon and Mary Kay Cosmetics. She loved to travel, also going to basketball and football games and other sporting events, canning and spending time with her grandchildren.

Bonnie Drost is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Mlejnek of Rice Lake, WI; 3 granddaughters, Tabetha Steffens, Dustie Daniels and Sabrina Alfonso and 2 great-grandchildren, MaKhia and Landon Daniels; 4 stepdaughters, Sandy (Frank) Kodesh of Rice Lake, WI, Cindy (Leon) Ekblad & Sharon Drost-Hultman both of Sarona, WI and Gail (Mark) Peterson of Eau Claire, WI; 2 stepsons, Mark Drost of Cameron, WI and Brad Drost of Rice Lake, WI; 10 step grandchildren and 12 step great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Sandy Becker and Florence Savina and 2 brothers, Gaylon and Barry Larsen all of Cumberland, WI; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Pee Wee” Drost; parents, Olaf and Jane Larsen; a sister, Sheri Burkhart and a brother, Gary Larsen.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Red Cedar Community Church in Rice Lake, WI, Rev. Todd Arneson officiating, with interment in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spooner, WI. Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 PM Wednesday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals and for 1 hour prior to the service at the Church.
