MILLER, Marcus A.
Marcus A. Miller, age 16, of Rice Lake, WI, died Monday, August 18, 2008 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN of injuries received in a truck accident in Barron Co.

Marcus was born December 3, 1991. He was the son of Colleen (Moe) Miller.

As a youth, Marcus enjoyed Draft Horse and Tractor Pulling at the Barron Co. Fair. He attended Franklin as well as Jefferson Elementary schools, the Rice Lake Middle School and the Rice Lake High School where he would have been a Junior this year. Marcus played basketball for the Rice Lake City Travelers and the Middle School Team. Marcus played quarterback on the Freshman Varsity Football Team. He made the varsity baseball team in his freshman year of High School and was looking forward to playing the next two years. He was a member of RLHS Conservation Club. He also had a love for farming and was able to operate all types of farm equipment. He recently started tractor pulling on his own and took first in his class at Almena, WI and received a trophy. Marcus was also a fisherman as well as gun and bow hunter, but, baseball was his love. Marcus followed baseball, basketball and football at both the college and professional levels especially the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. He took great pride in his truck & boat. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

Marcus Miller is survived by his mother, Colleen Miller of Rice Lake, WI; 2 sisters, Chelsea & Molly Miller of Rice Lake, WI; his maternal grandparents, Dick and Ramona Moe of Rice Lake, WI and many uncles, aunts and cousins. He is also survived by special friends, Shirley, Pete and Miriam McGiffin of Barron, WI; and his many, many friends.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, August 23, 2008 at the Rice Lake High School Ole Olsen Gymnasium, Rev. Todd Arneson officiating, with interment in the Swede Cemetery in Rice Lake Township. Friends may call from 5 - 9 PM Friday and 2 - 3 PM Saturday at the Ole Olsen Gymnasium at the Rice Lake High School. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI.

Memorials to The Leukemia Society would be appreciated.
