SAFFERT, Edward F.
(September 20, 1961 - October 30, 2010)
Edward F. Saffert, age 49, of Chetek, WI died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at his home.

He was born on September 20, 1961 in Rice Lake, WI to Leonard and Bernice (Crotteau) Saffert. Ed graduated from the Rice Lake High School in 1979. He bought the home farm in Doyle Township and farmed for 20 years. On May 8, 1982, Ed was married to Doreen Dostal in Rice Lake. Ed later became a Construction Foreman for Lester Buildings, where he built Pole Sheds. He was a member of the Rice Lake Moose Lodge and the local Harley Davidson Chapter. Ed loved to ride his Harley, 4-wheeling, snow shoeing, hunting, fishing, bowling, antique shopping where he collected Case Tractors, Marx dolls and antique Copenhagen items.

Edward Saffert is survived by his children, Chad Saffert of Chetek, WI, Jamie (Michelle) Saffert of Cameron, WI and Nicole Saffert of Iowa City, IA; grandchildren, Emmalee Saffert of Chetek, WI and Megan Widiker of Cameron, WI; his father, Leonard Saffert of Rice Lake, WI; brothers, Kevin (Clara) Saffert of Cumberland, WI, Larry (Sandy) Saffert of Cameron, WI, Steve (Jan) Saffert of Rice Lake, WI, Dan (Bonnie) Saffert of Rice Lake, WI and Bernie (Shannon) Saffert of Rice Lake, WI; sisters, Ella Mae Saffert of Rice Lake, WI, Marlene Hansen of Sarona, WI, Lynette (Rob) Buehler of Rice Lake, WI and Janet (Brian) Hamilton of Chetek, WI; a special friend, Luanne Mosansky of Rice Lake, WI; ex-wife, Doreen Saffert of Rice Lake, WI; several nephews and nieces and many god children. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Saffert; a sister, Julie Saffert and a brother-in-law, Al Hansen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake, WI, Fr. James Powers officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 PM Tuesday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals and for 1 hour prior to the service at the Church.
