WOOD, Grace A.
(October 21, 1938 - July 26, 2010)
Grace Alice Wood, age 71, died Monday, July 26, 2010 in Eau Claire, WI at the Sacred Heart Hospital.

She was born October 21, 1938 in Brainerd, MN to Edwin and Janet (Clendenning) Wood and was raised in Minneapolis. She attended the University of Minnesota and received a Masters Degree in Social Work from Smith College. After working for many years as a Social Worker in Philadelphia, PA and Syracuse, NY. She returned to Minneapolis and worked in related fields until moving to this area in 1979. Grace was diagnosed with MS in 1995 and as her mobility decreased, she developed a skill of drawing and used it to create designs for greeting cards. Her business, Reasonable Seasonables, was still operating at the time of her death.

She is survived by her partner of 30 years, Karen Kringle of Rice Lake, WI; a sister, Carol Brant of Minneapolis, MN; a niece, Karen Brant of San Francisco, CA and a nephew, Michael Brant of Minneapolis, MN.

A Get Together for Grace Wood will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 2 - 4 PM at Karen Kringle's farm at 1467 20 1/2 Ave., Rice Lake. Memorials to the Center for Independent Living or donor's choice are appreciated.
