JOHNSON, Perry J.
(September 18, 1915 - February 3, 2010)
Perry J. Johnson, age 94, of Rice Lake, WI, died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Our House Assisted Living in Rice Lake.

He was born September 18, 1915 in Clear Lake, WI to Berger and Helen (Thompson) Johnson. Perry graduated from high school in 1935 and then joined the Civilian Conservation Corp. Later he worked as a cook while sailing the Great Lakes. Perry also served in the United States Army during World War II where he saw 40 states and 8 foreign countries before returning to Wisconsin. On August 26, 1950 he was married to Esther Anderson in Barron, WI where they owned and operated the Harmony Hills Tree Farm. He also worked at Wright Products where he started as a Material Handler and moved into Die Casting for the next two years before taking over custodian duties on second shift.

Perry is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha & Duane Erickson of Eau Claire, WI and Debra & Tim Morris of Crystal Lake, IL; 3 grandchildren, Melissa (Kyle) Tomesh, Ryan (Ellen) Morris and Scott Erickson; 3 great-grandchildren, Alaina, Nolan and Leah; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Johnson in 2002; a granddaughter, Lisa Erickson; his parents, Berger and Helen Johnson; 4 brothers, Howard, Alvin, George and Leonard; and 4 sisters, Cora, Charlotte, Harriett and Jeanette.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Stanfold Lutheran Church in rural Rice Lake, Rev. Gerald Hibbard officiating, with interment in the Nora Cemetery in Rice Lake where Military Rites will be accorded by the Rice Lake Veterans Center Honor Guard. Friends may call from 11 AM - 1 PM Saturday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals.
