Orville Ivan Wold, age 86, of Rice Lake, WI, died Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the Rice Lake Convalescent Center.
He was born on September 20, 1923 in Rice Lake to Severt and Mathilda (Swenson) Wold. After graduating from the Rice Lake High School he entered the United States Army and served for 2 years receiving a Purple Heart. He then re-enlisted into the United States Air Force for 20 years and worked as an accountant. After retiring he worked for Swant Motors in Rice Lake for several years as a bookkeeper.
Orville Wold is survived by a sister, Gladys Pepper of Rice Lake, WI; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Severt and Mathilda Wold; and 3 sisters, Bernice Swanson, Dagny Dodge and Dorothy Wold.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Nora Cemetery in Rice Lake, Rev. Lowell Bolstad officiating, where Military Rites will be accorded by the Rice Lake Veterans Center Honor Guard.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI.
